A Well put together piece of art, but as any one will say, it is not perfect. it wouldn't be art if it was.
The cadence part of the art a bit too dark on the wing to me, and the changeling part is a bit overpowering.
the muzzle needs to be a bit mote like cadence on her side, and a bit more of cadence in general. over all... the changeling part dominates it. (not sure if that was intended or not but that is my opinion on it.)
NOW FOR THE POSITIVE.
The wing on the changeling has a nice texture to it, and you can tell that it belongs to this character. the armor has a nice transition to the rusted look of evil and the jewel is changing colors which adds to your impact and technique of this piece. The look that you put on the horn with the magic is a very nice touch that also adds to that impact that is the darkness taking over. the eyes on the character are very 'dimensional'... you can see the intent in Chrysalia's eye. (i believe that's her name) Other than how dark the wing is of cadence, it has a lot of visible work put into it. you can see each feather nicely and you can tell that there is a big contrast between the two.
Vision- 4 Reason; you can definitely tell what you were going at and that the villain was successful. (for a little bit at least) But you could have put a bit more emphasis on the whole Dark V.S. light type of image this is.
Originality- 3.5 Reason; You put your own twist on a piece of work nicely, but i have seen this picture, a bit different, before.
Technique- 4.5 Reason; The time that i can tell was put into this piece was a good bit, and you can't say that this was thrown together by an amateur. this took time and a good eye to detail to make it look as nice as it does.
Impact- 4.5 Reason; I, and just about any one else, can definitely feel the tension of how much of a villain she is. The piece has a tone of dread, yet one of those "I am the best at what i do" feelings to it. The detail on the magic on the horn gives it that... powerful Villain feeling.
All together you did well and i wouldn't say that this is anything close to a bad piece of art. This piece is a well thought out, well put together, powerful piece. *cadence is still a bit undermined in this one though, about 70% changeling and 30% cadence to me. keep that in mind. Nice job though.
Damn I always forget that CTRL and enter doesn't work here XD It's Shift and enter.
Anyways. I never liked Female Vilians in most movies (Save for Lion King 2, that gal was awesome too ) But Chrysalis was, and still is, totally mindblowing. Also have a fav!
